The financing platform Fundly reports that over 6.4 million fundraising campaigns were launched in 2020 worldwide, proof that crowdfunding has become a real crowd-pleaser. Crowdfunding platforms are easy to use and have helped various projects come to fruition. Video games, fashion accessories, technological gadgets, sports equipment, and even beekeeping endeavours have found investors.

That said, Fundera, a US funding platform, finds that only 22.4% of crowdfunding campaigns pan out. Moreover, reaching a campaign goal doesn’t guarantee future success.
